Michigan State Standards
The Michigan Department of Education has adopted the Michigan State Standards for English Language Arts and Mathematics as the set curriculum standards for students in grades K-12. This means our students will have the Common Core State Standards as the core curriculum in English and Math. Please remember that the standards represent what students will learn, not how they will learn. We want our teachers to be creative and thoughtful about how they deliver instruction to our students, but by Michigan code, we are bound to teach the standards the Michigan State Board of Education adopts - and for English Language Arts and Mathematics, it's the Michigan State Standards.
Links to the standards are listed below so you can see what the Michigan Department of Education expects our students to learn.
